TUI launches ‘trailblazing’ cabin crew apprenticeship programme

TUI will launch a cabin crew apprenticeship programme in March 2026, stating that it will be the ‘first of its kind among major UK-based airlines’.

It has worked with the Government to reshape and reduce the duration of the traditional 12-month apprenticeship model, which has ‘paved the way for a trailblazing cabin crew programme’, said the operator.

Applications for the Level 3 apprenticeship open on 22 October, with space for 16 candidates aged 18 and over.

The apprenticeship will last eight months and apprentices will receive induction and cabin crew training, followed by flying duties from May to October.

Post-apprenticeship contracts are not guaranteed, but graduates will be eligible to apply for cabin crew roles through TUI.

Emerging Talent and Apprenticeship Manager Marsha Myles said: “Securing a shorter, apprenticeship is a game-changer – not just for TUI, but for the future of aviation.

“This breakthrough means we can offer young people, a faster, more accessible route into a career that’s exciting, global, and full of opportunity. It’s about opening doors, building confidence, and creating real pathways into the skies.”

Aviation Minister Keir Mather added: “This first-of-its-kind aviation apprenticeship scheme marks a major step forward in building a highly skilled, future-ready workforce.”
