TUI has launched a series of ‘no passport needed’ experiences for locals in their own country, as part of its strategy to provide year-round leisure activities to customers abroad and at home.
The new Experiences for Locals range is available through tours and activities division TUI Musement, with products curated in partnership with event ticketing platform Fever.
TUI has launched Experiences for Locals in two markets, the UK and Germany. From this month, experiences are available in more than 30 UK locations, including London, Edinburgh, Southampton, Manchester and Belfast.
Examples of UK experiences include a themed brunch or Sicilian cooking class in London or yoga at the Van Gogh Immersive Exhibition. Experiences for Locals can be booked through the TUI and TUI Musement apps and on the TUI Musement website. TUI said UK travel agents who have a contract with TUI Musement can also sell the experiences.
TUI Group CEO Sebastian Ebel said: “Whilst we are well known to customers for their annual holidays or even city breaks, we are now moving into a new phase where we can be the day-to-day partner for leisure activities at home.”
TUI Musement CEO Peter Ulwahn said: “TUI Musement is expanding beyond sun and beach and destination cities with Experiences for Locals. From immersive exhibitions to foodie nights, we’re making unforgettable experiences accessible at home.
“In partnership with Fever, we’re transforming leisure with seamless booking and unique events. No passport needed – just a sense of adventure.
“TUI is committed to offering extraordinary travel experiences across the globe, yet we recognise that not every memorable moment requires a journey abroad, and we are inviting local residents to break the routine, explore new interests, discover hidden gems and enjoy some ‘wow moments’ closer to home.
“With our ‘Experiences for Locals’, the TUI app now serves as a dedicated resource for local residents seeking exceptional day trips, outings, and weekend plans – providing a touch of that holiday spirit right at home.”
