TUI has added city break packages to the capital cities of Tirana in Albania and Sofia in Bulgaria.
Flights will be with Ryanair, which signed a distribution deal with TUI last year, as well as British Airways and easyJet. Packages are on sale now.
TUI UK & Ireland Commercial Director Chris Logan said: “We’re really excited about the addition of Tirana and Sofia to our rapidly expanding city break collection. In particular Albania has recently become a very popular destination with social media really putting it on the map. We want to offer destinations that we know there is a strong demand for, and both cities offer a blend of culture, history, nightlife and natural beauty so they are perfect for a range of travellers.
“Adding these cities to our portfolio comes after we recently launched our dynamic partnership with Ryanair meaning we offer more flights and ultimately more destinations, hotels and excursions for our customers.
“The new partnership has enabled us to offer Tirana and Sofia as city break destinations and we’re really looking forward to taking customers to these exciting cities which have lots to offer.”
Packages to Tirana are available from Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Heathrow, London Stansted and Manchester airports and to Sofia from Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, London Gatwick, Heathrow, Liverpool and Stansted.
Sample packages include three nights, room only at the four-star Downtown in Sofia, from £306 per person departing Stansted on 14 May 2025; and three nights at the four-star Hotel Theatro in Tirana, from £298pp, including breakfast and flights from Stansted on 19 May.
TUI has also added excursions, including a guided walking tour of Tirana, starting at £19pp, and ‘Private Buggy Vineyards Tour’ in Sofia, from £58pp.
