Travel job vacancies have reached their highest level in eight months, according to the latest figures from C&M Travel Recruitment.
October’s total rose 2% month-on-month, and reached its highest level since February, though it remained 19% below last October’s figure.
The number of candidates placed in travel roles increased by 46% in October compared to September, marking a seven-month high, although they remained 5% below the figure for the same period last year.
The month also saw the number of candidates searching for new travel jobs increase by 6% from September.
C&M said this was the second month in a row all metrics (candidates, vacancies and placements) have risen – the first time this has happened since June and July 2021.
Managing Director and co-owner Barbara Kolosinska said: “For many, many months, we have been calling for momentum and consistency in the travel jobs market – and there are now very early signs that we may be seeing this.
“For the first time since 2021, the number of new travel jobs, candidates and placements have all increased in back-to-back months. This is much needed, and while we clearly need this to continue before we can declare it a real trend, it’s undoubtedly a positive sign for the travel industry.”
