Winners of the first-ever UK travel agent regional awards were revealed last night at the legendary Geordie Ball.
During the fun-filled gala event at Newcastle’s Grand Hotel Gosforth Park, hosted by local comedian Patrick Monahan, 15 agents from the North East were presented with trophies.
Thirteen of the agents were scored best in their category within the region by a panel of judges, led by Travel Gossip, based on their entries or nominations.
There was an additional award, selected by the judges, for Travel Agent of the Year, which went to Chloe McArthur of Dawson & Sanderson, and an award for Outstanding Contribution, also chosen by the judges, which went to industry veteran, Graeme Brett of Westoe Travel.
“We were absolutely thrilled to recognise excellence amongst travel agents in our first wave of regional awards,” said Travel Gossip Managing Director Anwar Sohawon. “A big congratulations to all the winners, and thank you to our headline partner Newmarket Holidays and all our sponsors.”
The next Travel Agent Awards, for South West & Wales, will be presented in Bristol on 18 June, followed by The Travel Agent Awards North West in Liverpool in September.
Agents have until Monday 9 March to enter the South West & Wales awards. Find out more here.
