Essex-based personal travel concierge company Winged Boots is looking for travel consultants for its first bricks-and-mortar shop opening in May.
The shop, located in Shenfield High Street, will be the first of several stores, according to the owners.
Founded in 2008 as a subsidiary of Ocean Holidays Group, Winged Boots currently has an office in Romford and a total of 25 staff, including three sales consultants who work from home full time, one of which is based in Dubai.
Co-founder and Managing Director David Ox said the new store, and future units, ‘present huge opportunity for growth nationwide’, as well as opportunity to expand The Extra Mile event programme, which includes charity clay pigeon shoot days and golf days.
When planning it first store, David said the company had sought advice from the owners of Wimbledon-based Swords Travel. “They were happy to reveal their thoughts on what makes retail work and kindly shared some invaluable advice,” he said.
“Alongside this, we’ve collated lots of essential information from like-minded luxury brands outside of travel, as well as precious tips from local businesses, all of which we have absorbed and soaked in the Winged Boots way.
“We have made a significant investment in the Shenfield store’s look and feel. We’re committed to executing a quality build with high-quality finishes to reflect the elevated service levels of our brand.
“We want all clients who visit our store to instantly feel at ease and know that they will be looked after from the moment they step through our doors until they step off the plane upon return to Terminal 5.”
He said Shenfield was chosen as the location for the company’s first store as it’s where he and his brother have lived for many years. Winged Boots recently funded a two-year bursary in the sixth form of nearby Brentwood School, which they both attended.
“We already have a strong client base already within the area and are keen to further enhance our presence within the local community,” added David.
Winged Boots said its clients include ‘well-known celebrities, sportspeople, media personalities, entrepreneurs and high-net-worth individuals. With the opening of its new shop, it is looking to take on three new members of staff.
“We’re looking for agents with unmatched worldwide travel knowledge who are confident in selling luxury holidays in a face-to-face environment,” added David.
