Travel colleagues organise event in memory of Diane Court

Travel industry friends and colleagues have organised an evening event to celebrate the life of Diane Court, who died last month.

Diane passed away at the age of 71, less than a year after retiring from the industry. She had been diagnosed with lung cancer in August 2025.

She spent 50 years in the trade, and her last job was with JTA Travel, where she was an ambassador and, before that, Senior Sales Manager.

Friends and industry colleagues Sue Lindsay and Karen Swann have organised an evening in her memory on 5 February at Hogarths Hotel in Solihull, including food and music, with a DJ sponsored by JTA.

They say the night out will ‘honour a woman whose spirit, friendship and fierce love for the travel industry touched every corner of our lives’.

Sue told Travel Gossip: “Di was a great friend. We had known each other since the 1990s, when she worked at Thomson and I worked at Birmingham Airport. I live round the corner from her house, in Solihull.

“Di had a private family funeral last week, but we have organised this event as we know so many people want to celebrate her life.

“She is missed by an awful lot of people. She was always the first on the dance floor, so it’s great that JTA is sponsoring the DJ.

“We want people to be able to share stories about her, to say something in tribute.”

The event is for 100 people and there are about 20 tickets left, although more places may be added.

Tickets cost £35 and the dress code is sequins, sparkles or leopard print.
