TravCorp pledges to honour Classic Collection’s Junior Hotel Inspector fam trips

TravCorp Holdings has stepped in to rescue Classic Collection’s Junior Hotel Inspector fam trips, by fulfilling those already committed or confirmed.

The parent of Sovereign Luxury Travel, Citalia and American Holidays stepped in after Classic Collection announced its closure yesterday, with all planned events – including upcoming fam trips – being cancelled.

Classic launched the Junior Hotel Inspector programme in July 2024, giving agents the opportunity to take their children on fam trips to participating hotels.

The children acted as ‘mini hotel inspectors’, rating pools, menus, kids’ clubs, and other family-friendly facilities, while parents experienced properties through their children’s eyes. The first trips took place in October 2024.

TravCorp Holdings Group CEO Andy Freeth, who was CEO of Classic Collection until he left in 2024, said: “These trips captured imaginations across the trade – and more importantly, they gave children a sense of being part of their parents’ world.

“We don’t want those families to be let down. If you were due to travel on one of these fams, please email us directly – we’ll make sure you and your children still get the chance to enjoy the same experience.

“This industry is built on people and relationships. By stepping in, we want to keep alive the fun and inspiration of the Junior Hotel Inspector idea – and make sure those kids still get their moment to shine.”

TravCorp has asked hotel partners originally committed to the programme and due to host the 2025 Junior Hotel Inspector trips to get in touch, so the initiative can be brought back to life.
