Three of Baldwins’ 11 shops have been put on the market after receivers were appointed at the request of one of its creditors, Westwood Capital Finance.
The shops are in Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and Tenderden in Kent.
The premises were put up as collateral by Baldwins to secure loans from Westwood in 2023.
Phil Deyes from Leonard Curtis and Frazer Ulrick from Westgates Restructuring were appointed joint fixed charge receivers over the three commercial properties owned by Baldwins on 7 May.
In a statement issued today, they said they will be marketing the properties for sale or rent and interested parties should contact them on [email protected]
Phil Deyes said: ‘’Our role as fixed charge receiver is to manage and sell the properties over which we have been appointed. We are not responsible for the management or operations of the travel agency.
“We are unable to deal with any enquiries relating to holiday bookings which may have been made before our appointment.’’
A spokesperson for the joint receivers said they weren’t able to put a figure on the amount owed by Baldwins to Westwood or how much they expected to receive from the sale of the buildings.
One of the properties, on the High Street in Tonbridge, is being advertised on Rightmove for £600,000-plus. It is a three-storey Grade II listed building with the travel agency on the ground floor, a self-contained office and two self-contained flats.
