Sub-zero temperatures have led to the cancellation of flights across the US ahead of the busiest weekend of the year.
Almost two-thirds of the country has been put under a winter weather alert for a ‘bomb cyclone’ and more than 5,000 flights have been cancelled or delayed in the run up to Christmas.
