The Good Travel Agent co-founder Jake Cullum-Hollins is stepping down, selling his shares to business partner Rob Bryer for an undisclosed sum.
The move follows rapid growth in Jake’s social media presence, which has passed 150,000 followers in five months.
He leaves the homeworking agency to pursue personal passions, spend more time with his family and build his career as a content creator on a permanent basis, while continuing to sell travel as a homeworking agent.
Jake will move to a new host agency or consortium to make a clean exit from the business, while Rob assumes full ownership of The Good Travel Agent.
The exit will be staged over the coming months, with Jake remaining involved until regulatory and compliance responsibilities are formally transferred. There will be no immediate change to existing financial protection arrangements.
Jake said: “This has been a very difficult decision for me to make, especially as we built this business from nothing to what it is today. That being said, this opportunity has come at the right time for me to focus on other passions of mine.”
“I have been working hard on building my social media presence and am now looking for further opportunities to partner with more travel brands on content creation, with some already in the pipeline.”
“While being a director of The Good Travel Agent I still continued to book holidays for clients, and I will continue to do so when I exit the business – I couldn’t imagine my life without selling travel. It’s in my blood.”
“Thank you so much to everyone who I have worked with over the past three years. Their hard work, dedication and drive continue to inspire me.”
Rob added: “Jake and I started this business from nothing in 2023, becoming one of the fastest growing homeworking agencies in the industry; he has been an amazing business partner and what we have built here – and what he’s now building for himself – speaks for itself. Growing to 150,000 followers in five months is not luck. I’d rather back him to go and do that properly than watch him try to do two jobs at once. He goes with my genuine thanks and my full support, and he’ll still be selling holidays, which tells you everything about him.”
“For The Good Travel Agent, this is a moment to go bigger, not smaller. We’re bringing the ‘Good’ businesses much closer together and putting serious money into technology, because I think the next few years in travel will be won by whoever gives agents the best tools. That starts with our new platform and app, and it doesn’t finish there. Our agents will have better technology than anyone else in the market. That’s the whole plan.”
David Moon, Head of Business Development at The Good Travel Agent’s consortium Advantage Travel Partnership, said: “It’s been a pleasure working with Jake over the last three years and we wish him well in the next phase of his journey. The Good Travel Agent has some great plans in place for the future, and we look forward to continuing our good working relationship with them.”
