Tauck has revealed the names and more details about the two ships it is launching in France next year.
The ships will be called Serene, which will sail on the River Seine, and Lumière, which will operate on existing Tauck itineraries along the Rhône.
The names were chosen from more than 1,000 suggestions submitted by agents, guests and Tauck staff.
Tauck announced in October 2024 that the ships will launch in spring 2026.
Serene will have total capacity for 124, and Lumière will have capacity for 130 guests. As with other Tauck ships, single supplements will be waived on all category 1 cabins. These cabins on Serene and Lumière will be 20% bigger than the others currently in the fleet.
Serene will sail a new itinerary, ‘Bordeaux, Paris and the Seine’. The itinerary starts with a fully guided three-night tour of Bordeaux and Saint Emilion, with accommodation in Bordeaux, followed by high-speed train travel to Paris to board the ship for a seven-night cruise.
Highlights include full days in Paris and Versailles, guided visits to the D-Day Beaches of Normandy, Rouen, Les Andelys, the Giverny home of Impressionist painter Claude Monet, a Tauck-exclusive reception and dinner at 16th-century Chateau du Taillis, and a visit to a family farm. The 11-day trip starts at $7,240.
