Suppliers help Spa Travel celebrate 45 years in business with charity event

Nearly 40 suppliers came together in the West Yorkshire village of Boston Spa on Saturday to help local agent boss Paul Dayson celebrate 45 years in the business and raise money for a local hospice.

Paul, Managing Director of Spa Travel, organised a charity roadshow in the village hall, to raise money for the local Martin House Children’s Hospice, which provides end-of-life care for young people.

Paul said: “Around 250 clients came through the doors in the four hours the event ran for and we raised £1,500 in a raffle for the charity. Prizes were kindly provided by the tour operators and suppliers.”

Prizes included a seven-night Cyprus holiday, £250 holiday vouchers, hampers and cases of wine.

Paul has already made one booking from the event, an APT Mekong cruise, and has had several enquiries from clients who attended the event and spoke to suppliers. Suppliers included Abercrombie & Kent, Caribtours, Exsus Travel, SPL Villas, North America Travel Service, Inghams, Club Med and Newmarket.

Meanwhile, Paul is looking to take on experienced travel agents who want to join Spa Travel as homeworkers.
