The Foreign Office and Jet2 are warning travellers that Storm Alice could cause travel disruption in parts of Spain today.
The storm is expected to bring heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, including in the Balearics.
In an update to its travel advice today, the Foreign Office said: “Severe weather warnings are in place today in Murcia and Valencia, including the province of Alicante.
“Disruptions to travel are likely. If you are in the affected areas, follow the advice of the local authorities and monitor local weather updates.
“If you are planning to travel, check for messaging from your travel provider or airline.”
Jet2 told customers its flights are operating, but it advised them to ‘leave plenty of time to arrive at your departure airport’.
In a message on its website, it said: “We have been advised that Storm Alice is expected to bring adverse weather conditions, including heavy rainfall and thunderstorms to the parts of Spain and the Balearics.
“All Jet2.com flights are currently expected to operate as scheduled, so please ensure you leave plenty of time to arrive at your departure airport.
“Our check-in opens three hours before this time and will close 40 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time.”
“If you are on a Jet2holiday, your transfer remains unchanged for now, however should this be subject to change, our friendly in-resort team will be in touch with you via SMS and email.
“If your flight is affected, we will have the latest updates here and also via SMS, email and the Jet2 App.”
