Riviera Travel is now paying agents commission on previously exempt elements, including upgrades and add-ons.
As of 1 January, agents now receive commission on all sole occupancy supplements, room upgrades, flight upgrades, and extras including extra baggage, pre-booked seats and priority boarding.
Riviera said the change followed feedback from its new Riviera Agent Engagement Committee.
The cruise line’s current Peaks incentive for agents includes a £1,000 weekly prize draw and a £30 lifestyle shopping voucher for every booking made up to 28 February 2025. This will be doubled to £60 for any 2025 themed river cruise booking.
Head of Sales Vicky Billing said: “Travel agents play a pivotal role in the success of Riviera bookings. They serve as our trusted advisors who can navigate the complexities of travel arrangements, their expertise in promoting Riviera’s unique product and incentives helps drive bookings and boosts revenue and as such it’s important we recognise their importance.
“I’m delighted that our new incentives mean our agents can earn more, aligning perfectly with our commitment to being a team that genuinely cares about the people we work with. It’s important to us to ensure we continue to support and reward our valued travel agents.”
