Travel recruitment company C&M says the next few months will be busy for job placements as companies prepare for the busy Peaks season.
The latest figures from C&M reveal there was a 5% increase in travel placements last month compared to the previous August, although the number was 21% lower than July 2025.
The number of candidates beginning their search for a new travel job remained steady in August compared to the previous month, but was down 5% on August 2024.
The traditional fall in new travel vacancies in August materialised again this year, with a 31% monthly decrease from July. The figure was also 8% down on August 2024.
C&M co-owner and Managing Director Barbara Kolosinska said: “August is traditionally the second quietest month of the year for the travel jobs market behind only December – and this year was no exception.
“With many candidates and decision makers taking their summer holidays during the late summer months, activity in August nearly always drops.
“However, there were bright spots last month, with new candidates holding steady with July, while job placements were up compared to the same month in 2024.
“All attention now turns to the autumn months which are usually much busier for travel recruitment, with many companies looking to get great travel talent in place ahead of the peaks season.”
