Question mark hangs over Norse Atlantic’s Manchester to Bangkok service

Norse Atlantic Airways has not yet confirmed if it is still planning to operate flights between Manchester and Bangkok next winter.

The winter-only service, which had been due to resume in October, is not currently on sale.

Aviation Analyst Sean Moulton posted on X that Manchester has been removed as a destination from Norse’s booking system.

However, Norse’s service between London Gatwick and Bangkok is available to book for winter 2026/27, with flights showing from November this year until the beginning of February 2027.

Norse UK Head of Sales Andrew Fish said the airline’s winter 2026 is being finalised now, adding the schedule had been held up because of the ‘chaos in the Middle East’.

The airline launched the weekly Manchester to Bangkok service last November, saying at the time that there was ‘potential for expansion based on demand’.

At the time of the launch, CEO Bjørn Tore Larsen said: “This route has been waiting to happen, and we’re proud to be the ones making it a reality. Manchester is a key gateway to the North of England, and Bangkok is a magnet for adventure, business, and culture.

“Connecting the two cities is a natural next step for Norse as we continue to disrupt and expand in the long-haul space.”

This article was amended at 15:10 on 13 April to add that Manchester has been removed from Norse’s booking system. It previously said Norse’s Manchester to Bangkok flights had been removed, but these were never bookable for 2026.
