Premier Travel has recruited 14 former Baldwins Travel staff after adding three of the agency’s branches to its network.
The shops, in Maidstone, Uckfield and Tonbridge are currently being rebranded and will be fully operational by late August or early September.
All staff from the shops have been retained: four from Baldwin’s Maidstone branch, five from Uckfield and five from Tonbridge. Premier Travel Managing Director Paul Waters described them as a ‘fantastic fit’.
The announcement comes a week after 10 former Baldwins staff including Marketing and Commercial Manager Tricia Lester, joined Ashdown Travel, which plans to open two shops in Kent.
Baldwins Travel was wound up on 9 July after receivers were appointed in May.
Paul said: “We’re thrilled to welcome such experienced professionals into the Premier Travel family.
“I’ve personally had the pleasure of speaking with the teams in recent months, and it’s clear they share our passion for delivering exceptional, personalised travel experiences.
“We know they’ll be a fantastic fit with our culture and values. This isn’t just about growth for us – it’s about protecting what matters in our industry: personal service, local knowledge, and long-term relationships.
“We’re passionate about investing in the high street and keeping travel expertise accessible to all. With these new branches, we’re not only creating stability, but also fresh opportunities for our staff, our customers, and our industry partners.”
The new shops enhance Premier Travel’s footprint in the South East. It already has franchise offices in Seaford, Bexhill and Reigate, and a managed services branch, Hallmark Travel in East Grinstead.
Paul added: “We’re proud to be investing in the high street, supporting local jobs as well as local communities and welcoming such talented teams into our growing network. We look forward to officially opening the doors in Maidstone, Uckfield and Tonbridge very soon.”
The news comes just as Wendy Wu Tours appointed former Baldwins Travel Marketing Executive Amy Sharp as Sales Support Executive.
Amy said: “Joining Wendy Wu Tours is a huge privilege – the company is synonymous with outstanding touring experiences and unmatched trade support.
“My background in retail means I understand the challenges agents face and the tools they need to succeed. I’m excited to work closely with our agent partners to help them inspire customers, secure bookings, and grow their sales with Wendy Wu Tours.”
