Edward Byrne is to join the ABTA Board of Directors.
Edward, who is CEO of PB International Travel Ltd, which trades as Powder Byrne, will replace Diverse World Chairman Jamie Gardiner, whose term comes to an end on 4 December.
He will hold the seat for ABTA members with annual principal turnover of less than £50m.
Daniele Broccoli will remain on the Board, as a member with retail turnover of less than £20m.
Nominations were invited for both positions. In both cases, they were the only nominations received and so there was no need to hold an election.
ABTA Chairman Alistair Rowland said: “I am delighted to welcome Edward Byrne to the ABTA Board. His experience and expertise will prove invaluable as we continue to represent and develop strategies to best serve members.
“I am also very pleased to see that Daniele Broccoli will be continuing in his position on the Board.
“I would also like to thank Jamie Gardiner who is stepping down from the Board, for his service and invaluable input during his time with us.”
