Operators report some of their busiest days on record

Operators are reporting some of their best trading days ever during this year’s January Peaks, with momentum continuing to build.

Dnata Travel Group UK’s adventure and touring brand Incredible Journeys said Monday 13 January was its best day on record, with calls up 37% and bookings up 30% on the same day last year.

The operator said Peaks sales to Sri Lanka (pictured) are up 25%, sales to Japan are up 80% and sales to Kenya are up 75% on the same time last year.

Trading Director Simon Owen said: “Although Monday was our best trading day ever, we have seen promising numbers over the last few days. As we expected, 11 January was a great day for trading and we are delighted to see the momentum continue throughout this week.”

Classic Collection has launched phase two of its Peaks marketing campaign, with a new ‘You Snooze You Lose’ message to agents.

Director B2B Si Morris-Green said: “We are happy with a solid start to our Get it Booked campaign, which launched on 27 December.

“On the back of growing sales momentum during the first two weeks of January, we’ve launched a new You Snooze You Loose campaign to our agent partners.

“It’s a fun way to remind agents that deals go very quickly during peaks, so it’s important to act quickly and secure bookings as soon as those deals appear.”

He added: “Three weeks in, and momentum is building nicely. We’ve had some of our highest ever value bookings and we’re genuinely excited to see what the rest of peaks has in store.”

Newmarket Holidays said sales of long-haul escorted tours have increased 30% since launching its ‘Live Your Travel Story’ Peaks campaign on 26 December.

The operator’s ‘Japan Unveiled’ itinerary has been its most popular long-haul tour since the start of 2025 and the top 10 includes four tours to India. Costa Rica in third place; Uzbekistan is sixth on the list; a South African safari is seventh; while two North American tours, visiting Canada and Alaska, complete the top 10.

Head of Trade and Partnerships Hayley Morris said: “We’ve seen interest in wishlist destinations and adventurous itineraries grow over the past couple of years and agents are perfectly placed to convert this attention into sales by giving people the confidence to book destinations that are outside of their usual comfort zone.

She added Newmarket is ‘delighted with the results so far’ during Peaks.

Meanwhile, agency chain Miles Morgan Travel reported Monday 13 December was its best trading day in the group’s history.
