Number of travel jobseekers hits 17-month high

The number of new candidates searching for UK travel jobs has jumped to its highest level in 17 months, according to the latest figures from C&M Travel Recruitment.

New candidate numbers in June increased 31% on the previous month, and 38% on June 2025. Figures were the highest since January 2025 and the second highest since November 2023.

The number of candidates finding new jobs in the travel industry in June jumped 56% from May 2026 and by 9% from June 2025. This was the highest number of placements seen in a single month since last November.

Similarly, there was a strong increase in the number of new travel jobs being made available during the month, with June seeing a 31%  jump from May and an 11% rise from June 2025.

C&M co-owner and Managing Director Barbara Kolosinska said: “After a run of inconsistency, last month was a truly positive one for travel recruitment. We saw new job vacancies, candidates and placements rising both month-on-month and year-on-year for the first time in three and a half years – since January 2023

“July and August is a traditionally quieter period for the sector, but June’s figures provide great momentum as we head into the heart of the summer.

“The travel jobs market is now the busiest that it’s been for some time with many fantastic opportunities available for those looking to progress their career and those wanting to add great talent to their team.”
