Norse Atlantic Airways has renewed its deal to offer charter flights for P&O Cruises’ Caribbean sailings for the winter 2026/27 season.
Norse CEO, founder and major shareholder Bjørn Tore Larsen revealed the news as the airline announced its second quarter results.
P&O Cruises switched to Norse in winter 2024/25, following complaints about Maltese carrier Maleth Aero, in 2024. In May it was announced the Norse partnership would continue for the 2025/26 winter season.
Bjørn said: “We are pleased to have renewed the charter agreement with P&O Cruises for next two winter seasons, flying cruise passengers from the UK to the Caribbean in the November to March period.”
The airline reported its first-ever second quarter operating profit, with earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) at $4 million, compared to an EBIT loss of $22.3m in the second quarter of 2024. It made a net loss of $6m in Q2 2025, a significant reduction from previous quarters.
Passenger revenue was up 27%, load factor was up 15 percentage points to 97% in the second quarter.
Bjorn said: “Going into the 2025 summer season, there has been some softness in the Transatlantic market. At the same time, we see strong demand for our Asia and Africa fall/winter program.”
He said more aircraft would be chartered to India’s budget airline Indigo, leaving six aircraft for Norse’s own scheduled network.
Bjørn said: “In the second quarter, we operated 11 aircraft in our own network and one on a long-term ACMI with Indigo. In the coming months, five additional aircraft will be transferred to Indigo, India’s leading and one of the world’s largest airlines, for ACMI [aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance] operations, subject to regulatory approvals.
“From early 2026, the fleet in own scheduled network will comprise six aircraft. This will strengthen our strategic and financial position with predictable ACMI revenue and cash flow in a volatile market while optimizing own network, flying routes with maximum passenger and fare potential.”
