Norse Atlantic hails continued passenger growth and ‘world-leading’ load factors

Norse Atlantic filled 94% of its seats in July, prompting it to claim ‘world-leading’ load factors.

The airline said July was the ninth consecutive month its load factor was above 90%. Last month, it was up 11 percentage points on the same month the previous year, following a 15% increase in passengers to 203,712.

While more than 70% of its flights departed within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure time, up one percentage point year-over-year, the airline said its on-time performance was impacted by air traffic control delays and airport congestion.

CEO and Founder Bjørn Tore Larsen said: “Norse Atlantic Airways continues to deliver strong passenger growth and world-leading load factor.

“July was the ninth consecutive month above 90%, reflecting the successful introduction of our data-driven market strategy late last year. This provides good momentum into the third quarter as we deliver our affordable, value for money product to customers worldwide.”

Low-cost Indian carrier IndiGo confirmed this week that it will use one of the Boeing 787s it has wet-leased from Norse to launch flights between London and India.
