Newmarket reports 189% passenger growth for 2029 long-haul programme

Newmarket Holidays saw passenger numbers for its 2029 long-haul programme rise 189% year on year in September, following an early launch.

The operator said agents drove ‘much of the demand’ for the collection, which covers Africa, East Asia, India and the Indian Ocean, Latin America, North America and Southeast Asia.

It has since more than doubled the number of long-haul tours on sale, from 15 at launch to 33, with further 2029 tours to be released before peaks.

The best sellers so far are ‘On Safari in South Africa – Mabula Lodge’, ‘Elvis Presley’s Memphis, New Orleans & Nashville’ and ‘On Safari in South Africa – Rhino West Lodge’.

Head of Trade Sales and Partnerships Hayley Morris said: “Launching 2029 early has paid off. We’re seeing triple-digit growth in passenger numbers, which shows customers are ready to plan their long-haul holidays further out, and we’ve been adding tours to keep pace with that demand. For our trade partners, that means more to sell, sooner, and more time to secure their clients’ first-choice dates.”
