The owner of long-established luxury tour operator AZURE has launched a travel agency homeworking group that allows independent consultants to retain up to 100% of their earnings.
The franchise, Independents Powered by AZURE, is operating as a member of the Advantage Travel Partnership.
AZURE Chairman Edward Leigh said he already has 20 independent consultants with their own businesses signed up and he expects to enrol another 25 to 50 a year.
There’s no joining fee for Independents Powered by AZURE and no long-term commitments, plus consultants are given 24/7 support.
They have access to180 suppliers via Advantage, but they can also work with other operators of their choosing and there is no pressure to book packages with AZURE, said Edward.
However, consultants are able to retain 100% of their commission when selling AZURE holidays.
When selling other holidays, consultants pay a per-booking fee, which is on a sliding scale depending on the value of the holiday, up to a maximum of £500 for bookings of £25,000 and above. Typically, agents keep 92% to 97% of their commission, said Edward.
“Homeworkers typically lose 25% to 30% of their commission with other host agencies so we are giving them a chance to increase their earnings and have more freedom,” he said.
“The traditional host agency model often comes with other constraints, such as restrictive contracts and high fees, that can limit the potential of independent consultants. Independents – Powered by AZURE is designed to address these challenges, offering a more supportive, and flexible solution for consultants who want to run their own businesses while still benefiting from the resources of a trusted partner.”
The homeworking group is open to all travel consultants with a minimum of two years’ experience. You can find more information here.
