Strikes in both Italy and Greece could lead to some flights to and from the UK being grounded next week.
EasyJet has warned its passengers might face disruption on flights to Italy on Monday 24 February when three unions have called a four-hour strike.
In a statement, the airline said it plans to operate its full flying programme but advised passengers to check the status of their flights on its Flight Tracker.
“We would like to reassure customers we are doing all possible to minimise any disruption,” it added.
The strike, which includes members of the National Association of Professional Civil Aviation, the Italian Federation of Transport Workers and the Italian General Confederation of Labour, will start at midday on Monday.
This will follow a weekend of rail disruption in Italy, with a national strike from 9pm tomorrow till 9pm on Sunday likely to affect regional and long-distance services.
In Greece, all passenger flights could be grounded on Friday 28 February if air traffic controllers carry out their threat to join a nationwide strike.
The walkout is part of a general strike demanding justice for the 57 victims of a train crash in Greece, which happened two years ago.
During the strike, air traffic controllers will only handle essential flights, such as medical evacuations, search and rescue operations, humanitarian aid deliveries, military aircraft, and other emergencies.
This means passenger flights could be badly disrupted, with many cancellations.
