MSC Cruises has opted to homeport Meraviglia in Miami instead of New York for winter 2026/27, forcing it to cancel cruises from November 2026 to April 2027, which were already on sale.
MSC Meraviglia has been homeported in Brooklyn since 2023, but in April next year it will sail to Europe for the summer season before being deployed to Miami for the winter.
The cruise line said: “In response to the demand we are seeing, this will mark the first season with four ships homeporting in Miami, as MSC Meraviglia joins MSC World America, MSC Poesia, and MSC Seaside.
“All four ships will sail from our new, state-of-the-art MSC Cruise Terminal at Port Miami, offering an exciting mix of newly introduced sailings and guest-favorite itineraries to the Caribbean and The Bahamas.”
MSC Meraviglia will now offer six- and eight-night cruises, and it will call to Turks and Caicos, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, among other destinations.
Passengers with bookings have the option to rebook onto one of the ship’s new cruises, or any seven-night sailing from Miami, Port Canaveral or Galveston, Texas. They could also opt for a refund or credit.
