MSC Cruises and Celestyal have cancelled cruises in the Middle East for the remainder of the winter season.
MSC has cancelled four seven-night sailings on MSC Euriba, which were due to depart from Dubai on 7, 14. 21 and 28 March.
The line said all impacted guests have been contacted and full refunds have been offered.
The ship remains docked in Dubai with passengers onboard as the conflict in the Middle East continues.
MSC said guests have full access to all services and facilities, and the situation remains ‘calm’.
In a statement, it said: “Our priority is the safety and well-being of our guests and crew, and we continue to follow the guidance of the regional military authorities for the ship to remain in the port of Dubai.
“Following the limited resumption of flights from the region, we are working closely with the airlines to facilitate onward travel for our guests. Given the significant backlog and the scale of disruption, airlines are currently progressing with new flights in a methodical manner, and this process will take time. We are fully engaged with our airline partners and are focused on securing a safe and orderly return home for our guests.”
Celestyal has also confirmed that Celestyal Journey’s remaining Arabian Gulf cruises have been cancelled.
These are departures on 7 and 14 March from Doha, and 9 and 16 March from Dubai. Guests will be given the option of a full refund or a future cruise credit.
The ship is currently docked in Doha.
A Celestyal spokesperson said: “We continue to follow developments in the Middle East and remain in regular contact with the relevant authorities. Throughout this period, our focus has been and continues to be the safety and well-being of our guests and crew.
“With the cancellation of the remaining scheduled sailings, our Arabian Gulf season will now conclude. Subject to operational conditions, Celestyal Journey and sister ship Celestyal Discovery will reposition to Athens to begin their scheduled programme in the Mediterranean.
“We sincerely thank our guests and partners for their patience and understanding during this evolving situation.”
