Meet the… new Ambassador BDM Jade Cheadle

Jade Cheadle has just been promoted to Business Development Manager – South at Ambassador Cruise Line. Travel Gossip found out a bit more about her…

I never travel without… my sunglasses. Rain or shine, I wear them all the time. They’re great for keeping your hair off your face and double up as a fashion accessory. Being on holiday always costs me in the sunglasses department at duty-free.

The famous person (dead or alive) I’d most like to sit next to on a plane is… Freddie Mercury. I’m a big Queen fan. I can only imagine the stories he’d have from touring the world.

My weakness is… shopping – particularly in Zara. If I turn up in a new outfit, my friends already know where it’s from. Thank goodness for credit cards.

The next place I’ll visit is… Amsterdam, Belgium and Germany as I’m joining Ambassador’s seven-night Greatest Hits Radio Escape II cruise on Ambience, departing on 27 March. My husband and I will be sailing as guests.

The last place I visited was… Budapest. I went a few weeks ago for a city break and, although it was short, we packed in so much, from museums to Harry Potter bars to a cat café. If it was on TikTok, I had to check it out.

The worst thing I ate or drank abroad was…  snails. I didn’t mind the taste, but the texture definitely wasn’t for me.

My bucket-list destination is… Brazil. My mission is to visit all the New Seven Wonders of the World before I turn 40, and Christ the Redeemer is at the top of my list. I’d also love to experience the atmosphere of Copacabana Beach.

Born and brought up in… Exeter.

Live in… I did move to Dartmoor for a few years, but I am now back in Exeter.

The best piece of advice I’ve been given is… always have a holiday booked. Actually, that’s my own advice – it’s my little mantra for staying happy and motivated.

If I could eat one thing/meal for the rest of my life, it would be… KFC. Although a good Sunday roast comes a very close second.

The emoji I use most often is… 😂.

The things I miss most when travelling are… my cats, Sooty and Sweep. I do FaceTime them every night though.

When I left school, I wanted to be… a Formula 1 driver. I loved go-karting and genuinely thought I was going to be the next Michael Schumacher.

The thing I’m most proud of is… my journey in the travel industry. I started as a travel adviser and have worked my way up through roles including Business Development Executive to now being a BDM.

In my new role, I’ll be… providing account management for several key accounts, helping them to grow their cruise business with Ambassador. I’ll provide product knowledge, marketing support and training, as well as attend trade events to ensure agents feel confident selling our product. It’s all about building strong partnerships, helping consultants succeed and making sure our guests enjoy the warmest welcome at sea.

What attracted me to the job was… Ambassador is a new and growing business, and I was excited by the opportunity to grow with it. I love cruising and genuinely believe in the product, which makes it so much easier to promote when you have that passion yourself. In the 18 months I’ve been here, I’ve seen so much development, and it’s clear we’re only getting bigger and stronger. I also really enjoy the variety the role brings, as no two days are ever the same.

The first thing I notice about a person when I meet them is… their accent. I love hearing different accents.

If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would… travel the world. I’d want to visit as many places as possible, with a quick stop at Zara along the way.
