Meet the… MSC Cruises Regional and Strategic Account Manager

MSC Cruises has just promoted Daniel Short from Regional Sales Manager to the newly created role of Regional and Strategic Account Manager. Travel Gossip found out a bit more about him…

I never travel without…  hair products.

The famous person (dead or alive) I’d most like to sit next to on a plane is… former Aston Villa footballer Gabriel Agbonlahor. I’ve loved the Villa colours since I was five and I’ve had a season ticket now for 10 years.

My weakness is… chocolate fudge cake.

The next place I’ll visit is… Istanbul to see Villa play Freiburg in the Europa League Final on 20 May.

The last place I visited was… Prague.

The worst thing I ate or drank abroad was… a chilli pizza in Malaysia. It was incredibly hot.

My bucket-list destination is… New York.

Born and brought up in… Bristol.

Live in… Berkeley, Gloucestershire.

The best piece of advice I’ve been given is… work hard and you’ll get the best luck, along with great results.

If I could eat one thing/meal for the rest of my life, it would be… chicken tikka dansak.

The thing I miss most while travelling is… my mum. She’s never been abroad and I know she’d love it if she gave it a go.

When I left school, I wanted to be… a travel agent.

The thing I’m most proud of is… buying my first house at 23.

In my new role, I’ll be… excited to jump into a newly created role and be able to put my own stamp on things. I’ll be looking after some different and unique accounts, allowing me to be creative with them, while helping grow their performance and confidence with MSC Cruises.

What attracted me to the job was… that this hasn’t been done before at MSC Cruises. It’s unique and allows me to be creative and build some really successful relationships and accounts.

The first thing I notice about a person when I meet them is… their personality and the genuineness of their smile.

If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would… pay off my mortgage and get a box at Villa Park forever.
