Meet the… loved-up former rep and new JTA Regional Sales Manager Lorraine Adams

Lorraine Adams recently joined JTA as Regional Sales Manager for the South East. Lorraine started her travel career as an overseas rep and spent 25 years at Unique Vacations. Travel Gossip found out a bit more about her…

I never travel without… my under-eye concealer and hair straighteners.

The famous person (dead or alive) I’d most like to sit next to on a plane is… John Carter, the long-serving presenter of the TV programme Wish You Were Here…?

My weakness is… cheese cracker sandwiches, M&S Mint Crumbles and Walnut Whips.

The next place I’ll visit is… Gozo and Malta. I’ve always wanted to go.

The last place I visited was… Lanzarote. My parents lived there. They have both passed on now, but left their bungalow to me and my niece. I have many friends there and I love Lanzarote.

My bucket-list destination is… Conrad Maldives Rangali Island.

Born and brought up in… South East London. I was born in Peckham. No, I don’t know Del Boy, but I do know people who have his traits.

Live in… Bocking, a little village near Braintree, Essex. The church bells ring daily, and ducks walk past my house to get to the canal.

The thing I miss most while travelling is… Brian May (my husband, not the guitarist in Queen!). He was my first boyfriend and we parted when I was 16 or 17. We’ve always kept in touch and we got back together later on in life. Brian used to be a professional boxer. Now he’s an electrical engineer and an air conditioning specialist. We got married at Sandals South Coast in Jamaica in June last year. We’re very happy.

The best piece of advice I’ve been given is… never go back, always move forward in life.

If I could eat one thing/meal for the rest of my life it would be… good quality sausages with mash, garden peas, onion gravy and Tiptree tomato sauce.

The emoji I use most often is… 😀

When I left school, I wanted to be… an overseas rep. I went abroad to work for Intasun, and stayed overseas for 12 years, including working for Thomson and Unijet, in Spain, Greece and North Africa. My overseas career saw me working my way up the ranks to a Regional Manager for the Canary Islands.

The thing I’m most proud of is… my overseas career and my niece, Rio.

What attracted me to my new role was… the positive feedback about the company from retail travel agents and working with some amazing JTA staff.

The first thing I notice about a person when I meet them is… their smile.

If I won the Lottery tomorrow, I would… travel the world in five-star luxury and gift money to family and friends in need.
