Marella Cruises to return to Tunisia for first time in 10 years

TUI cruise line Marella will take passengers back to Tunisia’s capital for the first time in 10 years in winter 2026, when the city will be included in adult-only ship Marella Explorer 2’s Mediterranean Moments cruise.

The cruise, which departs on 29 October, will call at La Goulette, which gives access to Tunis, as well as Valletta in Malta and Alicante and Almeria in Spain.

It will be the first time Marella has visited Tunisia since foreign tourists – most of them British – were killed in two terror attacks in the country, including one at the Bardo Museum in Tunis in 2015.

A new destination added for winter ’26 is Tangier in Morocco, which will be included on adult-only Marella Discovery 2’s winter 2026 Atlantic Treasure itinerary from Las Palmas in the Gran Canaria, which will also include Lisbon in Portugal, Arrecife in Spain and Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Santa Cruz in the Canary Islands.

Other new itineraries include Caribbean cruises from Barbados on Marella Explorer 2, including a seven-night Cocktails and Coconuts sailing from Bridgetown and calling at St John’s, Antigua, Philipsburg, St Maarten, Road Town, British Virgin Islands, Basseterre, St Kitts and Forte de France, Martinique.

The ship’s Exotic Islands itinerary will sail from Bridgetown, Barbados to Castries, St Lucia, Willemstad, Curacao, Oranjestad, Aruba, Kralendijk, Bonaire and St George’s, Grenada.

Marella Cruises has also added 22 more hotels in Cyprus, Croatia, Corfu and Spain to its cruise and stay programme, and there will also be overnight onboard stay in port at Funchal, Madeira and Willemstad, Curaçao.

The winter ’26 cruises go on sale on 3 July.
