Lincolnshire Co-op’s travel branch in Louth has reopened after a £160,000 transformation.
The new design includes tables shaped like aircraft wings, portholes on the wall that give the illusion of looking out to sea, LED signs saying ‘lounge’ and ‘departures’, a wall mural that resembles big windows in airports, and a tea and coffee table that looks like an aircraft trolley.
The revamp is part of a £5 million-a-year cyclical refresh plan for Lincolnshire Co-op’s 40 shops, and Louth Travel is the first travel branch to undergo a renovation.
The shop’s design will be a template for future travel branch refits.
Louth Branch Manager Rachael Bilcliffe said: “The whole team loves the new look, and we have had some fantastic feedback from our wonderful customers, who love how modern and fresh the space feels.
“One big difference is the waiting area, which is reminiscent of an airport lounge, and allows our customers to enjoy freshly brewed coffee and watch inspiring travel footage on the TV.”
The shop is holding a drop-in event on Saturday 27 September.
