Kuoni UK MD Mark Duguid steps down after 17 years

Kuoni UK Managing Director Mark Duguid is leaving the operator after 17 years.

Mark is stepping down on 25 September to take ‘some time out to travel and recharge’ before deciding on his next venture.

As part of the transition, Ben Boesch, Kuoni’s parent company DERTOUR UK joint Chief Executive Officer, will assume responsibility for leading Kuoni UK alongside his current role. He will work closely with Mark until his departure.

Mark joined Kuoni in 2009 and progressed through a number of senior leadership positions, including Commercial Director, before becoming MD of Kuoni’s sister brand Carrier.

He led Carrier for five years then returned to Kuoni as MD in 2022, overseeing the operator’s rebranding and repositioning.

Mark said: “After 17 rewarding years with Kuoni and DERTOUR UK, I have decided that the time is right for me to move on and begin a new chapter.

“Leading Kuoni has been a privilege and I am proud of what we have achieved together. Over the past few years we have rebranded Kuoni, repositioned it in the marketplace and reorganised the business, creating a clear path for the future.

“Having spent 17 years with the Group, including leading both Carrier and Kuoni, I feel this is the right moment for me personally to take some time out, travel, recharge and reflect on what I would like the next chapter of my career to look like.

“I leave with enormous gratitude for the people I have worked alongside and confidence in the future of the business. For now, I am looking forward to enjoying some time exploring the world before considering what comes next.”

Ben added: “Mark has brought tremendous energy and deep industry knowledge to every role he has held across the Group. His leadership has had a lasting impact on both Carrier and Kuoni, and he has guided colleagues through periods of considerable change with clarity and commitment. We are grateful for everything he has contributed over the past 17 years and wish him every success for the future.

“Under Mark’s leadership, Kuoni has continued to evolve. We will continue to build on what makes the brand distinctive: tailor-made travel, strong multi-channel distribution, differentiated products and exceptional customer service. Our ambition is to bring the Kuoni ‘wow’ to more customers, across a wider range of destinations, budgets and styles of travel, creating a strong platform for the brand’s next phase of growth.”
