Spear Travels Group Commercial and Operations Manager Julie Kendrick has announced her departure from the company, which was acquired by Hays Travel last June.
Julie had been with the business for more than six years, having previously spent more than seven years as Head of Commercial and Marketing at Midcounties Co-operative Travel.
Guy Fletcher, Sales and Marketing Director of Millington Travel, which was also bought by Hays last November, is understood to be taking on a wider role covering both brands, with more details due to be announced shortly.
In a statement, Hays Chief Operating Officer Jonathon Woodall-Johnston said: “Julie agreed to stay on for 12 months after our acquisition of Spear Travels in June and we are very grateful for her support and guidance over the last year.
“We are naturally sad to see her go and wish her an enjoyable summer with her family.”
Spear Travels was the first acquisition of the 2025 financial year for Hays. It includes 12 branches and a homeworking group. The founders, husband and wife Peter and Libby Cookson, and Derek Adams, left the business following the sale.
