Jet2holidays boosts agent apprentice scheme with record £1.5m investment

Jet2holidays has pledged its biggest-ever funding for its Appoint an Apprentice, with a record £1.5 million to be shared among independent travel agents in 2026-27.

The initiative allows independent travel businesses to access funding through Jet2holidays’ levy share programme, which has committed more than £3m in apprenticeship funding to trade partners since it launched in 2023.

As well as providing financial support, Jet2holidays works with participating agencies, offering mentorship, guidance and practical support.

The operator has also enhanced the scheme with additional development opportunities. Last year these included a dedicated destination discovery trip for travel consultant apprentices and a career development webinar designed to demonstrate how apprenticeship programmes can support long-term progression within the travel industry.

Jet2holidays said the additional support has helped boost apprentice engagement, improve completion rates and increase the return on investment for participating businesses.

Director of Travel Agent Relationships Alan Cross said: “Feedback from the recipients of the Appoint an Apprentice scheme has been extremely positive, so we are delighted to be introducing it for a fourth year and pledging our largest investment to date.

“We are always looking at ways to invest into our independent travel agent partners to help them strengthen and grow their businesses, and the substantial contribution we are making this year demonstrates our commitment to the scheme and our continued support.

“By expanding our offering, we can help even more partners and maximise the positive impact we are having on these organisations. We look forward to working with even more independent travel agent partners and playing a part in their success.”
