A tourist has died after his ski lift chair came loose and struck the one behind it, trapping other victims for several hours.
The accident happened at around 1pm on Saturday at Savin Kuk resort near the mountain town of Žabljak in Montenegro.
According to reports, the 34-year-old German man was killed when his chair suddenly slid 230ft backwards and collided with another.
Other people on the ski lift, including the man’s 30-year-old wife, became trapped and had to be rescued.
Prosecutors ordered the immediate closure of the lift while investigations began, although Serbian news outlet Blic said the ski lift was back in operation the following day.
