InsideAsia launches holidays to India, promising to ‘shake up market’

InsideAsia has launched holidays to India for the first time, with a choice of 12 tours across six regions.

South Asia Programme Manager Jess Andrews, who joined Inside Travel in early 2024 to develop a new India programme, said the operator was looking to ‘shake up the market’.

“We have gone way beyond the ‘Golden Triangle’ and really hope that we can start showing people what India offers and that it is not just the places, but the culture and people that make it an amazing place to experience. But this is just the start,” she said.

Alastair Donnelly, co-founder of parent company Inside Travel Group added: “India has long been a missing piece of our Asia puzzle.

“This is our first new destination to launch since 2022, and we believe that with India, with our partners on the ground, the people we work across the country and with the cultural adventures we are able to create, we have something incredible.”

He said InsideAsia has a team of five India specialist, including Brandon Clements who joined earlier this year after 13 years with A&K.

“Jess and the team have shown that there is a conscious effort to offer something very different to what is already out there on the market and to do things differently, and that is what was so exciting for me,” said Brandon.

“The cultural adventures on site are a snippet of what is possible, but they provide inspiration. We have covered some of the iconic sights on the 20-night Northern India’s Greatest Hits that people will know, such as Varanasi – sunrise over the Ganges is something everyone should see once in their lifetime – and the sheer scale of the Taj Mahal blows people away.

“However, it is the places people that won’t know that impress – the sheer variety of wildlife on a jeep or river safari in the Kabini forest reserve in Karnataka with tigers, leopard, elephant, Crocodile and rare birdlife often spotted included in the South India’s Culture & Wildlife trip.”
