Iceland’s famous Blue Lagoon reopens, with some restrictions

Iceland’s Blue Lagoon has reopened after temporarily closing last month due to earthquakes on the Reykjanes peninsula.

However, it is only possible to visit the famous spa on buses until at least Thursday this week to avoid excessive traffic while a defence wall is being built around the site.

Also, opening hours at the Blue Lagoon are restricted to between 11am and 8pm.

Both the on-site Silica and Retreat hotels remain closed, along with the Moss restaurant. However, the Lava restaurant and the Lon’s spa are open.
