Passengers have been warned a 48-hour strike at Munich Airport will cause significant delays and cancellations.
The trade union Verdi has called a two-day strike at the German hub on Thursday and Friday, 27 and 28 February.
Munich Airport said on its website that about 80% of flights have been cancelled. An estimated 1,600 flights could be affected over the two days.
It said: “Airlines have currently cancelled around 80% of their flights. Further cancellations cannot be excluded. A considerable impact on transport operations is to be expected. Passengers are therefore strongly advised to check the current flight status with their airline before travelling to the airport.”
Lufthansa, which uses Munich as a major hub, said: “Significant delays and cancellations are expected on all Lufthansa Group flights to and from Munich on both days.
“Passengers who are affected by a cancellation will be informed by Lufthansa Group Airlines.”
