Homeworking group reports record January

The Personal Travel Consultants in partnership with Blue Bay Travel (PTCs) has reported a record start in January, boosted by an increase in self-generated leads.

The homeworking company achieved an 11% year-on-year increase in sales and beat its January commission forecast by 13%.

Sales through self-generated leads accounted for more than three-quarters (77%) of total sales in January, up by 20% on last year.

Summer 2026 accounted for more than half of all bookings in January, while late departures through to April represented 21% of sales. Cruise bookings increased by 62% year on year.

The conversion rate of phone enquiries to bookings was higher than last year, with the average booking value more than £5,000. High-value bookings included a £69,000 Barbados trip and a £44,000 Zanzibar and safari booking.

Jet2holidays was the most‑booked tour operator for the month, with 2026 volumes more than doubling those of 2025.  Sales of Blue Bay Travel’s exclusive products in Zanzibar, paired with a safari, have also sold well, as have St Lucia, Mauritius, and the Maldives.

Türkiye was the most booked destination, followed by Spain and Greece. Long-haul and mid-haul destinations including the Maldives, Mexico and Egypt also performed well.

Group Manager Abbie Heaton (pictured) said: “We’re extremely proud of the results our PTCs achieved in January.  It truly reflects the grit, determination and entrepreneurial spirit of our homeworkers.

“Seeing a 20% rise in self‑generated leads is a brilliant achievement.  The PTCs management team, especially our Business Development Manager, Louise Rothwell, strives to support the homeworkers to build their businesses and grow their own client bases so it’s wonderful to see our agents reaping the rewards with the 65% commission they earn on those self-generated leads.”
