Homeworking boss treats team to Thailand fam trip

Inspire Independent Travel Associate Paul Robson-Truong is funding a team fam trip to Thailand for himself and his two colleagues.

Paul runs PR Travel in Leeds and has been one of Inspire’s best-sellers since he joined a year ago from Vertical Travel Group. As his business has grown, he has taken on two colleagues, Toni Johnson and Bev Jones, and he’s organised the fam trip partly as a thank-you for their efforts in boosting sales.

Paul has booked a 10-day twin-centre at the SIS Kata resort in Phuket and Waters Khao Lak by Katathani so all three can experience Thailand themselves.

Paul said: “This is the first time I have done something like this. One of the reasons I joined Inspire was because it has its own ATOL and we can dynamically package. Being able to do this has massively increased our sales and the team members have been key in that and building the brand.”

The trip has been organised in partnership with tour operator Mainstreet, who Paul uses regularly. Apart from a small trade discount, Paul is funding fam trip himself. The current cost is £5,000, although that is likely to go up because he wants to add other elements.

Work commitments and other trips mean the fam won’t take place until April 2027, giving Paul enough time to finalise it. He plans to add other experiences, such as a visit to Elephant Hills.

Paul added: “Mainstreet have been fantastic in helping us put together this 10-night experience. Nicola Foulds, reservation agent for Mainstreet and Mainstreet’s CEO Stuart Lee have been so supportive in getting this organised. Their expertise and attention to detail have been invaluable, and this is exactly why we love nothing more than to support their business.”

The trip will be the first time any of the three has been to Thailand.

Paul said: “I sell Thailand quite well, and I know a lot about it, but I have never been there. My girls sell one or two trips. It will be a first for all of us. If this is a success then I’ll definitely organise more fams like this.”

Inspire CEO Lisa Henning said: “It been an amazing year for PR Travel. It’s so heartwarming that Paul wants to recognise the efforts of this team in this way.”
