Heathrow drivers warned of delays as M25 junction closes overnight

Drivers heading to Heathrow Airport are being warned of delays as a section of the M25 closes overnight for preparatory work ahead of the replacement of two major bridge expansion joints next year.

The M25 junction 15 anticlockwise carriageway will be closed between the M4 slip roads from 8pm on 24 October to 10am on 25 October.

A fully signed diversion route will be in place during both closures, taking traffic via the M4 to junction 5 and back to rejoin the M25 at junction 4b.

National Highways has warned the route will be busier than usual with residual delays expected, particularly on the M25/M4 interchange between 8am and midday on 25 October.

Drivers are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys, while travel earlier or later in the day is encouraged.

Alternative routes or public transport, such as the Heathrow Express or Elizabeth Line, are recommended to avoid severe delays.

A similar closure also took place over the weekend of 17 to 18 October.
