Hays Travel has paid tribute to one of its homeworkers, Jon Berridge, who died just before Christmas.
Jon, from Corby, was well known among Hays members. He spoke at the Hays conference last year, detailing his move from being a teacher of 20 years to selling travel, after signing up the Hays New to Travel Academy last summer.
He died of a cardiac arrest on 23 December.
Hays posted on Jon’s Facebook business page to say: “Our thoughts are with Jon’s husband and family at this very sad time. Jon joined us through our New to Travel Academy and quickly established both himself and his travel business within our Hays Travel family.
“He was warmly received at our Overseas Conference in November, where we all enjoyed hearing about Jon’s journey from education to travel.
“On behalf of everyone at Hays Travel, rest in peace Jon, you will be greatly missed.”
Colleagues have also paid tribute, with one calling Jon a ‘lovely humbled man’, another saying ‘he made such a big impression’ and another describing him as a ‘laugh a minute’.
One colleague posted on his Facebook page to say: “I was at the Hays conference and reached out to say how great he was up on stage sharing his story.”
