Glasgow coach holiday operator ceases trading after 13 years

Glasgow-based coach holiday operator Eclipse Breaks has ceased trading after 13 years.

Directors Kevin Miller and Claire Davidson said they made the ‘difficult decision’ to close Eclipse Breaks due to rising operating costs and the cost-of-living crisis.

In an announcement on its website, the operator said tours had stopped departing from 5 October 2026.

Bookings are protected by the operator’s Financial Failure Insurance arrangements, managed by TMU Management Limited and underwritten by Accelerant Insurance Europe SA, in accordance with the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018. Affected customers are being contacted.

A petition for the winding up of Eclipse Breaks Limited, and the appointment of a liquidator, has been presented to Glasgow Sheriff Court. Affected suppliers will hear from the liquidator in due course.

Kevin and Claire said: “We are genuinely sorry that our journey has come to an end, but we did not want to continue in circumstances where we could no longer be confident of maintaining the quality and service our customers have come to expect from us.

“We are extremely proud of what Eclipse Breaks has achieved over the past thirteen years. We are equally proud of our team, who have worked incredibly hard to look after our customers and deliver the standard of service that we have always wanted Eclipse to be known for.

“[We] would like to take this opportunity to thank the thousands of customers/suppliers who have travelled/worked with us. It has been a pleasure to build relationships with you all and we will sorely miss helping you with your holiday arrangements.”
