Workers at Gatwick Airport are set to strike in May and June, the Unite Union has said.
Unite is warning that disruption, delays and cancellations are likely due to the industrial action, which involves workers at two firms, including plane refuellers, check-in staff and baggage handlers.
Plane refuellers from Redline Oil Services, who work for airlines including easyJet, are walking out in a dispute over pay.
Redline workers are set to walk out in two sets of four-day strikes. Action will start on 16 May, lasting until 20 May 2025. Staff will walk out again on 23 May, at the start of the half-term holiday, until 27 May.
Additionally, 100 workers from Red Handling, including baggage handlers, check-in staff and flight dispatchers, will walk out for four consecutive Sundays. Dates include 11 May, 18 May, 25 May and 2 June.
The staff are striking over ‘several issues’ including missing and incorrect pension payments and late payments.
Red Handling staff previously went on strike at Gatwick Airport over Easter.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Workers at both companies have had enough of poor pay offers and appalling treatment from their employers and it is little surprise they are taking strike action
“We will back our members at Red Handling and Redline all the way during these disputes.”
