Gatwick Airport is increasing its fee for dropping off passengers at its forecourt from £6 to £7.
The airport announced the price hike in a Facebook post: “Our forecourt drop-off charge is changing from 2 May. The minimum charge to use our designated drop-off zones will increase by £1 to £7.
“You can pay online, over the phone, or by setting up an AutoPay account. You can still drop off for free in the Long Stay car parks. Blue Badge holders remain exempt from the charge.”
Gatwick’s Long Stay car parks offer the first two hours of parking for free for both pick-ups and drop-offs, with holidaymakers able to board a free shuttle bus to the North and South Terminals.
Drop-off fees at Gatwick Airport increased in January 2024, rising from £5 to £6.
Earlier this year, Heathrow also increased its drop-off fee, with the charge rising from £5 to £6. Long Stay car parks at Heathrow offer 29 minutes of free parking.
Drop-off charges at Luton cost £5 for five minutes. Its Mid Stay car park offers 15 minutes free parking, the Long Stay Car Park offers up to 60 minutes for free.
At Stansted, a 15-minute drop-off costs £7. There is a free pick-up and drop-off area in its Mid Stay car park.
Stays of up to 10 minutes at Birmingham’s drop-off car park are free.
Manchester charges £5 for a five-minute stay, £6.20 for 10 minutes, and a £25 overstay charge.
