Brighton’s seafront observation tower has filed for insolvency, leaving its future uncertain, according to the BBC.
Julia Barfield, Chair of Brighton i360, said the decision was due to escalating costs, poor summer weather and the cost of living crisis.
The company is £51 million in debt to Brighton & Hove City Council, according to the local authority, which said it expects Brighton i360 Ltd to enter administration ‘in the near future’.
Administrators will decide whether to keep the attraction open while attempting to find a buyer, it said.
