French air traffic controllers are set to strike on 18 September in a dispute over pay, two months after previous strike action caused hundreds of flights to be grounded.
On Tuesday (26 August), the SNCTA union confirmed its members will strike next month after the Directorate General for Civil Aviation reportedly failed to respond to concerns raised by the union.
The ATC staff are calling for their salaries to reflect inflation rises that took place in 2024.
In a statement, the SNCTA union said: “For several years, the governance of air traffic control has been characterised by mistrust, punitive practices, and degrading managerial methods.”
Further details of the strike action, including the expected level of disruption, have yet to be released.
Hundreds of flights were grounded when ATC workers in France went on strike on 4 July.
