Foreign Office warns against all but essential travel to Israel

The UK Foreign Office (FCDO) is now advising against all but essential travel to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

The FCDO updated its advice late on Friday afternoon to say: “On 13 June a nationwide state of emergency was declared in Israel. This followed Israeli strikes against nuclear and military facilities in Iran. Israeli airspace remains closed.

“The situation could escalate quickly and could pose significant risks, including missile fire.

“FCDO now advises against all but essential travel to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.”

Foreign Secretary David Lammy posted the update on X and said: “The safety and security of British nationals is our top priority.”
